Change The Holy Trinity?

" At some Presbyterian Churches the Holy Trinity --"Father, Son and Holy Spirit"-- will be out. "Mother, Child and Womb" is in. "

The Presbyterian Church (USA) is considering changing the Holy Trinity. They voted to accept a poilicy paper on sex-inclusive language for the Trinity. This step is one step short of complete approval. This enables church officials to propose "experimental liturgies". Some of the other options they are looking at include :
  • Rock, Redeemer, Friend
  • Creator, Savior, Sanctifier
  • King of Glory, Prince of Peace, Spirit of Love
  • Lover, Beloved, Love
The panel said that the language used to describe the Trinity for 100's of years, supports the idea that God is male and men are superior to women.

Presbyterians should seek "fresh ways to speak of the mystery of the triune God" to "expand the churches vocabulary of praise and wonder."

Jesus Himself called God His "Father". When Jesus taught us how to pray He said, "Our Father who is in heaven,Hallowed be Your name." (Matthew 6:9) The Bible refers to the church as "the bride of Christ".
What the Presbyterian church is trying to do is yet another example of man trying to conform God to his image, rather than us conforming to the image of God. God has not changed. "For I, the LORD, do not change;" (Malachi 3:6)
The Bible is very clear that God is three, yet one. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. For God to be "masculine", in no way demeans women. God's instructions to husbands.."Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church" (Eph. 5:25) God loves all equally.
Times are changing but God is not. I think America needs to WAKE UP. God will not change because we have. His Word is still the final authority. His Word, the Bible is truth. This same denomination is considering allowing homosexuals to be ordained. May God help us all!
God is a just God. He is pure and Holy. Truth is absolute and it does not change because we want it to change. God will not be mocked. I do not remember reading anywhere in my Bible where it said we could ask God for an ammendment or revision to His Word.

Hmm, funny how they've completely missed the fact that in Hebrew, Holy Spirit is a feminine gender pronoun.
