It Is All About Worship

"O LORD, I love the habitation of Your house And the place where Your glory dwells. "-- Psalms 26 : 8
" For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness. " --- Psalms 84 : 10
" I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go into the house of the LORD. ' " ---Psalms 122 : 1
" Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. "---Psalm 67 : 3

I worship God because He is God. I was created to worship God. I want to be like Mary. I pray that I can be like Mary. Martha was too busy, so busy that she overlooked the most important thing...worshipping Jesus, being in His presence, spending time with the Master. When we worship God, when we enter into His presence, it is then that bondages are broken, fear leaves and God can work on our hearts, making us more like Him.
"But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." ---John 4 : 23-24
Jesus Himself said that God is seeking those who will worship Him in spirit and truth. Unfortunately, in many churches the so called "worship" time is similar to a spectator sport. The seeker friendly movement has tried to make church something like attending a concert. Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with good sound systems, talented musicians, lights etc.. but it needs to be for the glory of God. The Bible says that all of creation gives Him praise, we are all part of that creation. The very fact that we have breath is reason enough to worship. We should worship God even if we don't feel like it. We all know how to get excited at a football, soccer game etc. How about getting excited about God and all that He has done and is going to do?
" But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; " ---1 Peter 2 : 9
" So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. "---Acts 2 : 46-47
The church of Acts Chapter 2 grew rapidly. They worshipped God in spirit and in truth and added to their numbers daily. We don't have to have the best church "programs", the prettiest building etc... What this generation is hungry for is the tangible presence of God. When we worship in spirit and truth, His presence will come. Will you do what you were created to do?
